Right! The concept of “spiritual disease” feels so on point.

Very excitied to listen. Just finished the audiobook and was clapping. The narrator, the writing. I told more than one person to check it out.

Hey Kelsey that’s wonderful to hear!! Which scene in Big Chief was the most memorable for you? Do you have any lingering questions?

I was clapping too, I thought the writing had depth and intention I really appreciated. Now this interview has moved me just as much! Hickey is such a poignant thinker! One of the greats I’d say.

Getting to hear about his creative life inspired the heck out of me!!

Can’t wait to know what you think of the interview also when you listen. ❣️

Just finished. It was a very dun and insightful interview to listen to. Getting to know the inner workings and life of an author is treat for sure. I liked the scene at Gloria's house and the interaction with the police and of course the Casino scene/Layla's speech towards the end. Mitch's character development is so interesting to me. His "shivers", connection to his mom, Mack, in particular. I want to know more of what othera interpretated his "shivers" as? Outside of it being due to the weather, i think there could bw some bigger significance with ghosts of his Mom and Joe.

Yesss it’s such a treat!! I love your examination of the “shivers” and how the repetition of them create a meaningful motif in the story.
